We spent 2 decades “optimizing change” treating activism like a tech bro startup. We obsessed about button colors and the ladder of engagement. It worked for mass involvement, but not building communities of power.

Let’s not forget the political party that put pretending Biden wasn’t senile and giving an ally carte blanche to kill children above stopping this. They refused to do the bare minimum.

And after they denied medical help they fled the scene. Imagine local police being involved in a similar shooting and running away. Beggars belief and shows ICE are not actual law enforcement but rogue militia killing Americans.

A reasonable assumption and theory of change is that citizens must form armed militias to protect liberties since local authorities continue to fail. That’s such an extraordinary risk that it’s understandable people will wait and hope some competent authority emerges.

Same page. X is useless. And I do think there are some intellectually curious people getting lost because they aren’t hearing a story that speaks to them. Dems are busy saying “Immigration is bad!” Instead of “Immigration is vital and the rich just want to steal from you” bc they are the rich.

I don’t think this means being on Twitter is useful, but The Times Rabbit Hole podcast was supposed to be about the algorithm radicalizing a young guy into Jordan Peterson, MAGA, etc. But he became progressive watching his favorite YouTubers lose debates. www.nytimes.com/column/rabbi...

I don’t think this means being on Twitter is useful, but The Times Rabbit Hole podcast was supposed to be about the algorithm radicalizing a young guy into Jordan Peterson, MAGA, etc. But he became progressive watching his favorite YouTubers lose debates. www.nytimes.com/column/rabbi...
The kid even got a job on a fishing boat in Alaska so he could get some structure and his life on track, but when he showed up at the airport he was told he was on a “No fly list.” He lost the job and immediately started receiving recruitment emails from a secret jihadi group - the FBI.

What! It’s not like there was a time a dad called the FBI for help with his son, and then the FBI created a fake terror group to recruit the son and plan a Christmas tree lighting bombing.
