I've been following this case for months, and the situation is extremely dire. Previously in this saga, which deals with simply horrific allegations of human rights abuses against detainees. Gov claims 10 days of critical footage "irretrievably destroyed"

Ring set up a series of package theft "sting operations" with police around the country where they would put trackers in empty Amazon boxes / police and cameras would stake out the empty packages. as far as we know this resulted in a grand total of zero arrests
It helped police set up elaborate, completely useless package “sting” operations designed to catch criminals but that did not result in any arrests. Ring gave cops devices that they could raffle off to people in their towns, gave police “heat maps” of where its customers lived, used its social media accounts to post footage of supposed suspicious people, and incentivized customers to create “Digital Neighborhood Watch” groups that could earn them swag if they used their Ring cameras to report suspicious activity to police.
