A lovely linear walk on the Bridgewater Canal with John from Preston Brook at the junction of the Trent & Mersey Canal to Stockton Heath. A mix of industrial, suburban & rural views, bridges & moving boats.Stopped off at Walton Hall on the way too.

Had a great visit to Warrington parkrun with John and 'Dave' the Bear. A loop of the park then out and back along the line of the former Black Bear canal to the Manchester Ship Canal. Some great views at the turn around. Many thanks to all today's volunteers

A splendid linear walk on the Trent & Mersey Canal with John from the junction with the Middlewich Branch Canal to the outskirts of Northwich. Lots of rural views and more mile markers on the way. Just 1 more section to walk to reach Preston Brook!

Super easy to make for lunch. As I was inside it was plated & I even had a glass of wine with it! I used spaghetti as I couldn't find any tonnarelli. I've checked out Monte Testaccio & Flavio al Velavevodetto online too.

That's #ReadChristie2026 off to a cracking start! I've read along & managed 4 versions of Agatha Christie's The Body in the Library: the book in Miss Marple Omnibus Volume 1, the DVD in The Miss Marple Collection starring Joan Hickson, the DVD in Marple Series 1 & the full cast adaptation.

That's #ReadChristie2026 off to a cracking start! I've read along & managed 4 versions of Agatha Christie's The Body in the Library: the book in Miss Marple Omnibus Volume 1, the DVD in The Miss Marple Collection starring Joan Hickson, the DVD in Marple Series 1 & the full cast adaptation.
Finally made it to the very end of the Worcester & Birmingham Canal where it meets the River Severn with John. In October 2024 we couldn't get to lock 1 as the river was so flooded!
Then to Hanbury Hall to see the house, gardens and grounds. Finished the day with tea and a scone in the café!

Had a lovely time exploring Great Malvern town walk with John. Lots of really interesting buildings and the history of the Victorian water cures and Elgar. We tried the water - very clear and fresh, marvelled at the lit gas lamps, found a Victorian post box and went in the church.

Fab morning at Queenswood Country Park parkrun with John recompleting the West Midlands region again. Lovely twisty two lap route through the trees with a steep climb (twice) up 'Cruella the Hill'. Had breakfast in the café. The loo seats are a sight to behold! Many thanks to all today's volunteers.
