Shop local and support a small business near you. I popped in to Big Al's Music Emporium in Wem High Street earlier - thanks Alex for your sharing your brilliant insight, and your amazing array of instruments!

Great to be introduced to the new Cabinet at The Grove School in Market Drayton yesterday!

Well done to everyone involved in the election campaign - it's wonderful to see such creativity and enthusiasm among the students who were elected. 🗳️

An amazing number of youth groups, schools and organisations across North Shropshire have taken part in UK Parliament Week - 44 in fact! Brilliant to see so many engaging with politics - from Question Time-style debates, to Parliament tours and much more. What a week! Here's to next year 📣#UKPW

Lovely to meet with staff and volunteers at Wem Town Hall. I congratulated them on their recent King's Award success - a great achievement that rightly recognises all they do for the community. Good to hear about what support makes the most difference to them and the vital services they provide.

❌ This was a botched budget.

❌ The Labour Government has failed to deliver.

❌ Again.

Despite being warned its damaging changes to farmers’ inheritance tax could lead to a lost generation of farmers, today the Government has not budged. Family farms are under threat, along with food security and natural environment. We must stand up for them #Budget #Budget2025 #ScrapTheFamilyFarmTax

Farming is the backbone of the rural economy, and the sector is critical to our way of life in Shropshire.

The Chancellor has a final chance to change course tomorrow and SCRAP the Family Farm Tax.

👊 High Streets have been hit hard
🙈 Rural areas and market towns overlooked - funding diverted to metropolitan areas.
❌ The economy isn't working for North Shropshire.
We all want good public services, a fair tax system. The Chancellor can change course, I hope she listens #Budget2025

📣 It's UK Parliament Week! A chance to spread the word about what Parliament is, what it does and how you can get involved. Thousands of schools, youth groups and community organisations across the UK have signed up. I hope those holding events across North Shropshire have a great week! #UKPW

Fascinating visit to the famous Llwyd Mansion in Oswestry today to see the structural work needed to save the building and learn more about the plans to bring the historic building back into use for the local community.

Farm shops play an important role in the rural economy. It was good to discuss this, and how we can best support them and their suppliers, with representatives of the Farm Retail Association. #farms #ruraleconomy

I've been pleased to support this important Bill - and am delighted it will soon be made into legislation, bringing an end to the appalling cruelty of the cross-border puppy trade.

We need to:
💡Reduce household energy bills
🍻Cut VAT for hospitality, attractions, accommodation
💷Introduce a windfall tax on the big banks to pay for it
We need to tackle the cost of living crisis and help our High Streets.

This plan will put £270 back in your pockets.

🚨 Today I raised the issue of drug dealing and county lines with Home Office ministers.

☎️ Many of you have contacted me to flag concerns in your area.

🚔 We need more community policing to clamp down on dealing, ASB and all rural crime.

It was great to be out chatting to people in Shawbury over the weekend!

It was great to see the Lingen Davies Sunflower Appeal launched in Parliament last week - a wonderful local charity.

I also met Education Minister Josh MacAlister to discuss support for St Martins School after the fire.

After a few days in Shropshire I'm now on my way back to Westminster...

⌛ It's been seven years since my constituent reported historical sexual abuse - and it's set to be another two years until the case goes to trial.

➡️ Court delays often go unnoticed but they take a huge toll on those involved and must be sorted out.

Without short-term help, drastic cuts are inevitable. We need urgent funding to stabilise the budget and protect vital services for #Shropshire residents. 4/4

Good to hear from residents on the doorsteps on Friday when I visited Morda with Councillor Andy Davis. I also met lovely shopkeeper Jas, who recently won an award for her work helping the local community.

It was an honour today to join the parade and service for Remembrance Sunday in Oswestry, and to lay a wreath at the war memorial. We will remember them.

Ahead of Remembrance Day, I was proud to dedicate a cross of remembrance in honour of North Shropshire personnel who lost lives while serving their country. The Gardens of Remembrance are a moving memorial in the heart of Parliament. This weekend I will be paying my respects in North Shropshire.

This week I joined colleagues from all parties in a run for #Movember and men’s health week. The planned route was 4.5k - marking the 4.5 fewer years that men live on average compared to women. It was a great event and it’s good to see men’s physical and mental health raised in Parliament.

➡️ Everybody serving should have a clean and safe home to live in.

🏠 However, accommodation for armed forces is often not good enough.

🛏️ It's good news the Government is planning to upgrade Service Family Accommodation, but urgent action is also needed to improve Single Living Accommodation.

Great to see the finished poppy cascade unveiled in Baschurch on Saturday. A huge well done to Pauline and everyone involved in creating this stunning work.

And just up the road from another beautiful display in Myddle - what a talented bunch of people we have in North Shropshire!
