When my mother passed away, we had hundreds of books to dispose of. Some academic books, but mostly fiction. Neither my sibling nor I had physical space, or I’d have saved more of them. Nobody wanted them—charity shops, schools, nobody. It was agony knowing they were probably headed to a landfill.
