We recognize that continuing to share our challenges and strategies to address them is critical for improving representation, capacity, and accountability, and to promote authentically participatory work. 6/

We created collaborative documents to facilitate discussions on difficult topics and to identify shared values, define respectful communication, interrogate power dynamics, and implement accountability processes. Our materials, including blank templates, are included as Supplementary Files. 3/

This work was done by a neurodiverse team of scholars with diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise, with the shared goal of promoting accountability to advance authentic participatory research. We applied and developed participatory methods when writing this manuscript. 2/
