Do I need this? Absolutely not. Am I going to buy it? Also no, but man do I want it lol. If I still had pre-kids disposable income i'd be buying this lol.

I get the joke regarding the year of the Linux desktop and that it never will come to fruition. But by what metric is that based on? Is it based on market share, or some other metric? Or is it just like "I use arch, btw" and has taken on a life of its own to not be quantified? 🤔

Really humbling getting this as feedback (not fluent in LinkedIn, but definitely wrong term) on LinkedIn from a former coworker. #DevOps #Linux #Containers

Ok, my nephew is wanting a PC, so I'm going to set him up with Linux. He wants to game (steam) and use office. I'm familiar with libreoffice, but don't game. I want this to be as easy of an on-boarding as possible. Do I just give him mint and install steam manually?

@grapheneos.org is this true? I looked quickly at your profile and didn't see anything about it. Really hoping so.

Facts. All the unhelpful "just switched to Linux" comments with no other useful context.

Disclaimer: I use mint and arch btw 😂
J'aime linux, mais ce meme s'est encore avéré vrai aujourd'hui.

I wish I was able to requote the post (got distractedand was gone when i came back), but someone put Linux on their parents PC and then used a win10 theme. Brilliant!! Probably an XFCE theme. About to go looking.

Ok so recently been thinking about putting Ollama on mint and/or arch Linux PCs I have. I'm not anti-AI. I'm just anto-data mining. But I think ollama is or can be set to local only with no callbacks?
TL;DR should I start researching Ollama for a local AI from CLI, or is there a competitor instead?

I might do this and create an Ansible Playlist out of it. Good way to learn Ansible, and then also can wipe and reload quickly. Assuming my files are backed up.

How to quickly and (semi) easily re-install all your apps when switching Linux distros or setting up a new system.

The article gives specific commands for multiple installers, Snap, flatpak, pacman, apt, dnf etc.

Why did i put off learning Tmux for so long? Just finished part 4. Will watch 5th one tomorrow. This is a game changer for work. And won't have to worry about VIM files being open and session dropping creating a .swp file.

Productive Linux day. Installed podman on my new to me x1 carbon w/ arch. Started playing with docker files and flatpak in alpine. Was messing with flatpak as a while back i was building a container for our QA team that needed all browsers. Was trying to trum the size down.

Well my dumb ass copied over a config file. cp source/dir sway/config instead of swaylock lol. Oops. Need to initiate a local git repo and then push when done. Luckily I wasn't too deep in the config yet.
