There's also that 250 year gap covered by the novels in between 1 and 2, so they have basically full creative freedom to adapt those moments or just create new ones in that gap. Personally I'd like to see more about ascalon during that period

im all for it, personally, gw1 and 2 are so different that it'd be nice to have content in both to bounce between. My pipe dream is they somehow revive utopia lol they really focused on showing that concept art off during that stream with colin

Even controller support before they planned this was mostly silently announced on the wiki by Dr SCW, but something changed and they decided to do a big PR push and bring gw1 back into the forefront of the brand. You don't do that for QoL updates alone, imo lol

I wouldn't necessarily say a new game is coming anytime soon, but I feel like an expansion/mission pack for gw1 is like a 60% chance now. They wouldn't do this kind of push if they didn't want to try to show the numbers to justify it
