To me, the vague "costly ideology" reference (what ideologies?) combined with a plan that focuses on Canadian (clean) industry expansion is about using intl standards to expand industry - it omits adressing climate change impacts or total emissions at home.

Except that the is no grovelling that would have been enough to prevent the tarrifs. It's the same as with Zelensky - the decision was already made.

Trump ignored Trudeau's calls from the time of his inarguation and didn't even get in the phone until after retaliatory tarrifs were threatened.
