That's the "Evolution of Butch" show -- I thought the link would display the title and I'd run out of space for text.

Anecdotal evidence, to be sure, but it’s one part of the picture. Another part of the picture is that the economics of being a non-tenured teacher is such that my friend is currently teaching ten classes to make an adequate living wage. 3/3

The students were engaged and thoughtful. Asked me all sorts of questions about the book, my writing process, where the ideas and research come from, and we even got into the logistics and economics of publishing. Some previous classes have been shy about asking questions, but these were eager. 2/3

There are some fun recipes I’d have a hard time justifying if not for having a bay laurel tree and thus unlimited fresh leaves. Apicius has a recipe for boiling pork in brine and bay leaves that infuses a heavenly taste if you use handfuls of them.

I've noticed several people (not you) saying that the university's response is capitulation to pressure. Having been a graduate student instructor, I see it as laying out the standard procedures for complaints. The response indicates nothing about what the outcome of those procedures will be.

Do we know if there’s a publicly accessible index to the book sets in question?

Well, the conjunction of bobcats/coyotes and ground squirrels on my list is not entirely coincidental.

The original meme was animals of any type, so you're fine! I just decided it to narrow it to mammals to make life easier. (I'm a bird watcher and have done a lot of camping. I wouldn't know where to start.)

I've seen the bobcat (I assume it was the same one) twice and the coyote only once, but they still count. (If I'd been counting road kill, I could have added possums and raccoons, but I figured the spirit of the meme included "living.")

One year when I (a single person) hosted family Thanksgiving, I made up the leftovers into frozen "tv dinners" and was able to enjoy the re-runs ten times over the next few months. It did depend on having balanced amounts of leftover side dishes, though.
