I don't know who needs to hear this, but - DEVELOPERS ARE DISTRIBUTED.
They don't live just in SF.
Brilliant folks everywhere are working remotely and on-site, on software that runs major companies and governments. Forgetting that is short-sighted.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I found Granola.ai this week and it's been immensely helpful with my action items after a bunch of meetings that leave my brain right after they end. Pretty happy with it.
Give me more life-coping software suggestions, please.

Have you shipped AI Agentic flows in prod? I have questions for you. 🧐

Noticed the same. Preach 🙌
Adding basic indexes to databases should be part of the developer workflow. It used to be we had dedicated DBAs for such things but that's a rare luxury for a startup. Testing with 100x your current user base is a good way to identify problems like these earlier, too.

Wrapping up at @influxdb.com with gratitude.
Working with flight telemetry and real-time data was cool. What really stuck: refining my technical storytelling chops. Grateful for my incredible colleagues. Remarkable talent in this space. Shoutout to all the Influxers! 😀
Next chapter coming soon.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 is pretty good. Never touch ChatGPT anymore. I also appreciate that Claude assumes you’re literate and doesn’t italicize and bullet point everything.

Software engineering ability is more about discernment and critical thinking skills rather than just a badge on your profile or a piece of paper.
I'm excited that @infoworld.bsky.social has quoted me on this for the first time.

Model Context Protocol (MCP) certification: When will it arrive and what will it mean?
MCP certification is a hot topic in AI hiring. Here’s what courses are available now, when official certification might arrive, and why it may not solve every problem.

The best thing you can do to get the developer community to engage with you is to build something that they actually like enough to tell other people about.
Build quality products that make sense. The fans will come.
