A couple of years ago, I interviewed for the job to manage the environmental approvals for the closure and demolition of Eraring power station. I asked about shifting goalposts, since its life keeps getting extended. The company went through a restructure, and decided not to fill the role.

Anyway.

Sure, the Sydney 9:00pm fireworks are fine. But I bet you can't see the 8:00pm Bulimba Golf Club fireworks out your window.

Home from a quick trip to Newcastle. First time in a long time I’ve thought I’d like to move back there.

What chance of an end-of-year / new year HBO Max discount? I'm thinking low, considering The Pitt S2 drops soon?

Wonder if I can wrangle a sneaky trip to Sydney to visit the Ron Mueck exhibition while I’m in Newcastle next week.

Can't get enough of that footage of Gocsy at the cricket.

A couple of years ago, he posted on his FB page that he was having a birthday lunch at a local RSL, and that his followers were welcome to join him. A couple of people I know turned up. It was just them and his family.

Back in the early Brisbane twitter days, there was a guy who was some kind of diamond trader. I thought of him tonight. I wonder what happened to him.

Like i can’t imagine a film franchise less worthy of this kind of constant, angry analysis from so many people. It’s a stupid ass space wizard franchise for children. There’s lots of other, better space opera art you can enjoy! Let that shit go

there is no more tedious & worthless of an argument about media than arguing about the Star Wars movies, the most popular film franchise ever made that is also mostly terrible.

This water dragon jumped in the pond for a swim as I approached, but by the time I came back, was sunning itself safely on a rock by the water's edge. #wildlifephotography #waterdragon

I woke early this morning, so took a drive out to Sandy Camp Wetlands to see what I could see. Not much, as it turned out. Here's one of a pair of Chestnut-breasted Mannikin flitting around in the reeds. #birdphotography #wildlifephotography

“The grass is absolutely alive with Fairy Wrens”, said the old guy with the binoculars as I arrived at Oxley Creek Common.

He was right.
