I only have one fic to pull from at the moment, but since my OC is unable to speak in the first scene, it is mostly his internal observations. I had a lot of fun writing these thoughts as a call and response to the canon dialogue on the Ragnarok at the end of 6.0.

I have officially made it far enough in Stormblood to unlock her quest chain. If Rain'li has had two historians as partners now, I suppose that must mean he has a type.

This gpose is what originally started the idea for this fic eating away at my brain until I wrote it.
Rain'li, an orange-haired Miqo'te, lies on his side on a bed in the Baldesion Annex. He is surrounded by multiple members of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. His head is resting on G'raha Tia's lap, who has come to sit next to him. His face is twisted into a grimace of pain as he grasps at Raha's leg. Alphinaud and Alisaie have also climbed on the bed, and they each sit on either side of the miqo'te, resting a hand on him. Y'shtola perches on the end of the bed, looking over them. Thancred is faced away from the bed as he leans on the headboard, looking back over his shoulder at the group, while Urianger looks over the top of his book from a nearby chair. On the other side of a privacy screen at the foot of the bed, Estinien leans with his head tilted to the side, watchful and protective, but distant.

I did not expect when I first started writing this post-endwalker fic that I was going to give myself Thancred Emotions, but I suppose sometimes we are not in control of these things.
He settled into the bedside chair that Alisaie had abandoned and let a comfortable silence settle over the room, watching over Rain'li until the miqo'te was ready to speak. "What…" In spite of the water, his voice came out as a rasp from several days of disuse. He took a deep breath before trying again. "Fill me in?"
