Toyotas are wild. I had a friend in high school (early 90's) who drove her grandparent's pristine 1980(ish) Toyota Corona. The number of wild eyed dudes who had no hesitation asking in parking lots to sell it to them was unsettling, particularly to a 17 year old girl.

My FIL was a project manager for Metrolink light rail stations back in the day and he has stories about how righteously difficult right of way constraints are with the railroad companies. As long as we have corporations capturing the Feds, alignment to move forward is a real barrier.

Absolutely. Train commuters in Southern Cal are jealous that Metrolink hasn't followed suit. Hopefully it is building the political will that can push them to find a way through the challenges to electrify.
