Community matters more than ever with public education under attack and our kids’ futures on the line. Honored to present certificates from Assemblymember Tina McKinnor to the organizers for their hard work.

Before you introduce students to *what* they’ll learn, you need to establish *how* they’ll learn.

Here’s educator Michelle Hart Bram’s guide to setting up clear routines and procedures in your classroom. 🤩

How to Establish Classroom Routines for Productive Learning
Before a lesson begins, it’s important to communicate a clear plan so that students will understand what’s expected of them.

What are your thoughts on team building? Collective teacher efficacy has an effect size of 1.57 (Hattie) it seems like building academic teams should be the norm not the exception.

Do you feel empathy for your colleagues? Empathy is part of having better conversations. #Edusky Empathy isn’t about agreeing is about seeking to understand.

Thinking about my PLC project. We are focusing on how to give and receive feedback Second graders are learning what that means how to give it and how to take action. We teachers are learning how plan it into our own teaching. #edusky

People are fleeing Florida and Texas. As of Jan. 2025, those states collectively accounted for over 30% of ALL homes for sale in the US. Florida had 157,221 active listings—the highest in the country—followed by Texas with 102,552.

Repressive state governments and rising insurance are to blame.

Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.
NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.

Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.
