following others' distinction, I'm maybe more willing to vote Sheffield, McGwire, even Bonds than I am A-Rod, Braun, Manny, whose steroids come when it was much clearer they were illegal. Manny and A-Rod infuriating because HoF talent was there already.

I value longevity a bit more for position players, so Wright and Pedroia don't make it... and neither does Jones, who doesn't have enough separation from JD Drew or Torii Hunter (the former with a few elite seasons, latter length). In the end I vote for none of them

this ballot has some very tough edge cases, and lots of contrasts in peak versus accumulation. I value peak a bit more for SPs. there's a fear factor I don't get with Buehrle, Hamels or Pettitte. Lee and Oswalt are closer and Felix over them is kinda vibes. bar for RPs might be unfair
