Any solution that starts with “if everyone would just…” is not going to work because people will never “just” do anything, no matter how sensible or right.

Yes we are not very good at envisioning a collective for ourselves. I call it toxic individualism.

Basically, if you aren’t stroking their ego constantly and telling them how wonderful they are, you might as well be calling them dogshit, for how they take it. And that is some kind of ego right there. 2/2

There are exceptions. But the emphasis is on doing versus feeling.

There’s no prize for enduring the most painful things and there’s no shame in not having thought of every possible outcome for a situation, or thinking everything through to the nth degree. It’s within normal parameters to be wrong or falter. Batman doesn’t. 4/5

Trying to be like Batman is something that got me through really, REALLY difficult times, and stuff that no one should have to go through. But it doesn’t serve me anymore. 3/5
