I believe Alex Jordan really did amazing job in The Alters. Not an easy task to play variations of the same character in different ways.

But probably Troy Baker really deserves the award more than others, he sounds literally like Harrison Ford, like true Indiana Jones, it's a miracle.

In ITB the player also has a squad of three pilots for each mech and they have progression, but whether they die or not on 90% depends on the player's skills and it's fair.

I guess this is why it's impossible to manually save there

Great deconstruction, I haven't even heard about MENACE

I totally agree about BB, I can understand what the developers wanted to achieve, but bros die there too often even fully equipped (

As another example INTO THE BREACH handles the same idea in a better way 🤖

Hey! I believe your main direction sounds attractive 😊

I often feel overwhelmed by big worlds which will eat tens of hours. And small cozy games with the focus on a unique idea/mood/mechanic/narrative moment look like salvation from this problem!

Good luck 🍀

BTW Do you have any refs in mind?

The coolest part is that no matter how much chaos and destruction there are, the player is always able to understand what's happening.

You can be on a falling building, under it, inside it and fight with other players at the same time while it goes down, it's some kind of magic.

Thanks for breaking down the destruction system in THE FINALS!

Embark actually improved it just several weeks ago by adding damage to buildings from other buildings. They called it "Smooth Destruction" and it looks even better now ⚒️⚒️⚒️

The number you mentioned in your article of 1,431 games with more than 500 reviews is quite surprising.

Not sure that 10 years ago such amount of games could be discovered by players.

So maybe (...?) we're getting some kind of middle segment of games, which just got enough money. Not much/little 🤔

Accordingly to SteamDB there're more players now as well. It seems that such amount of games is partially the answer to the increased demand.

If 10 years ago a player could play through main titles over a year, now players are divided and together can dedicate time and money to different games.

Also there are some games of this year I'd really like to play

1. Sword Of The Sea

2. THE NEXT DAY after it released 1.0 Rogue Prince Of Persia

3. And I've been looking at The Knightling for some time, looks wonderful

I mean, really, when...

I guess the open world pandemic started after Witcher 3. But it raised the quality bar to the sky and showed many memorable stories

In nowadays open world games should either be more focused and have more non-repetitive content, or present systems like Middle Earth or Kingdom Come 2

Great video 😊

So no matter hard it is, a lot of player around the world enjoy it by getting through and at least the do it in equal circumstances, get new player experience and communicate with each other.

I guess this is why we play games 😆

Thank you for the video!

2. Doom Eternal - I heard about its complexity and choose the middle difficulty, but for me game started working only on the more complex ones. Only with more aggressive opponents the player need to constantly move and use full arsenal which absolutely FUN! 😀

A few examples from my experience

1. Uncharted 4 - usually I try to choose more complex difficulties and in case of the game I chose either the last or the one before it. It just made opponents deal more damage and I had to sit behind covers all the time. It's not the best way to play it, trust me

Many other games present too many opportunities to adjust game rules which causes many questions: "How the game was intended to be played by the developers?", "Which difficulty will suit me better?"

Players know nothing about such games at the start, but they already have to choose. 😔
September 24, 2025 at 6:02 PM
Even with such complexity I believe that absence of difficulty settings is more honest than the opposite. 😎

While such games like Silksong or Elden Ring may be difficult, they provide many gameplay ways to adjust it by finding new tools and non obvious routes, what you mentioned in the video.
