Full Council is meeting at 6pm this evening to discuss a range of reports. The agenda includes a report on a Community Governance Review which would look at the possibility of introducing town or parish councils as part of local government reorganisation.

We are aware of a large amount of debris being washed up on Hastings' beaches after containers came off ships during Storm Goretti at the end of last week. This was the same storm that caused damage along our coastline.

The Severe Weather Emergency Protocol continues to be active in Hastings, with an overnight centre available at Gizmo House in Hastings.

Weather update -

St Leonards Marina and Warrior Square toilets are currently blocked by shingle washed up during the storm. The Foreshore Trust are working to restore access.

We aim to reopen the Marina toilets by tomorrow (Saturday 10 January). Please note there will be no level access while

Following last night's storm, the Foreshore team has been out this morning to assess the damage.

Much of the lower promenade is covered in shingle, and the beach huts at White Rock have been damaged. All owners have been contacted and the team is working to secure the huts.
