This is what solidarity looks like.

KC takes care of KC. We got us.

KC showed up today. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped us fill the truck.
Every box, every can, every contribution is going straight to the Community Assistance Council and Uzazi Village to support families this Thanksgiving.

Forty percent of Americans are low income or live below the poverty line.
In the richest country in the history of the world, that is a policy choice.

We must raise the minimum wage, strengthen unions, and expand housing and nutrition support.

No one should work full time and live in poverty.

Trump’s plan is simple. End ACA subsidies and leave every family on their own in a broken market. That will not lower premiums. It will push people off coverage.
The real solution is universal health care that guarantees care for everyone, not a cash coupon for a private insurer.

Kansas City, we take care of each other.

Nov 22 from 12 to 4 PM, I, in my personal capacity and KC Eats are hosting a food drive so families have what they need during the holidays.

Join us at the National WWI Museum and Memorial and every person who donates gets a BOGO free admission ticket!

AI and policing without guardrails is a dangerous path. KC’s new drone program makes it clear: we need strict oversight, transparency, and community protections. No community should be a testing ground for unregulated surveillance.

As a proud democratic socialist, I had a great time grabbing coffee with fellow comrades from Kansas City DSA today. I always appreciate the chance to listen, learn, and build community together.

I hope to see you at our members-only town hall tomorrow. RSVP in the DSA Slack.

Great day building community benches with Sunrise Movement KC. Kansas Citians deserve safe, comfortable places to rest, and it was inspiring to build something real together.

Grateful to everyone who showed up and made it happen.

Foreign food safety inspections are at a historic low because of massive cuts to the FDA. This administration and its enablers continue to gamble with our health.
Mark Alford would rather cut regulations to help his corporate donors instead of keeping Americans safe. It’s time to send him packing.

Over 1.1MIL jobs have been lost this year, layoffs at a 20-year high. Now, Congress has cut 300K more in the hemp industry.

At a time when small businesses and farmers are struggling to hold on, Republicans are destroying livelihoods. We need leadership investing in our communities, not divesting.
November 13, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Premiums are spiking because Republicans let ACA subsidies expire. Families pay more so billionaires get tax breaks. Restore subsidies now and finish the job with universal health care.

Today isn’t about parades or speeches.
It’s about keeping our promises.
Every veteran deserves stable housing, mental health care, education, and a VA that works.
We show gratitude not with words, but with action.

36 days without pay for federal workers. While millions go hungry, this administration parties with the rich. They’re gambling with livelihoods, safety, and health care. This isn’t governing, it’s all to protect Epstein predators and line their pockets.
November 6, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Prop 50 passed, and that’s a victory for democracy. Voters rejected the authoritarian playbook we’re seeing across the country, rig the midterms in advance by drawing maps that silence communities.
November 5, 2025 at 7:48 PM
Today is Election Day! From Zohran Mamdani in NYC, to Omar Fateh in Minneapolis, to Prop 50 in California, there’s a wave of movements that are fighting for real change. This just the start — we’re taking this energy all the way to the midterms. Let’s win this.
November 4, 2025 at 10:16 PM
Trump just vowed to ignore a federal court order and hold SNAP hostage. That’s not governing, it’s lawless cruelty. 42 million Americans rely on SNAP. Obey the court. Release the funds now. Stop weaponizing hunger.
November 4, 2025 at 5:53 PM
Hot dogs for a day ≠ policy for a lifetime.

Congressman Mark Alford’s photo-op won’t fix the harm of voting to gut health care and slash food aid.

We’ll keep feeding families and keep fighting for universal health care, fully funded SNAP/WIC, and wages you can live on.
November 3, 2025 at 10:14 PM
Half a month of food for 42M Americans, but only after a court order. The Trump admin had the money and chose to withhold it. Hunger is a policy choice. The money was always there. Fully fund SNAP now.

Día de los Muertos celebration, a moving tribute to tradition, memory, & the beauty of Latin American culture @ the Nelson-Atkins

Art, music, & shared moments of remembrance reminds me that honoring our ancestors is also about protecting the future we build for the next generation.
November 3, 2025 at 12:57 AM
We are extremely proud of KC Eats and partner organizations for making this food drive happen. No one in our community should go hungry while billionaires get handouts and workers get pink slips.
October 31, 2025 at 10:50 PM
Good news, a federal judge just ordered the Trump administration to release billions in SNAP contingency funds, funds they’ve had all along.
Let’s be clear: this wasn’t about scarcity. It was about cruelty.
We need leaders who will feed families, not starve them to score political points.
October 31, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Over 40 million Americans are about to lose their SNAP benefits. Families held hostage.

We deserve and demand a government that feeds the hungry, heals the sick, and houses the unhoused and cares for our climate.

Missouri’s 4th District deserves better than a rubber stamp for Trump’s cruelty.
October 31, 2025 at 1:13 AM
Thousands of our neighbors here in Kansas City are feeling the impacts of this Trump government shutdown, and soon more than 600K Missourians could lose their SNAP and WIC benefits.

It’s shameful that the richest country, children still go to bed hungry & parents struggle to put food on the table.
October 30, 2025 at 5:53 PM
Tax the Rich is the framework to rebuild America.

While Missouri hands millionaires one of the largest tax cuts in the country, the richest 1% now control $52 trillion. That’s more wealth than the bottom 90% combined.
