5/ They are also now threatened with new predators, like lions & jackals, who are coming to the beaches and preying on them out of desperation because their usual prey & habitat are impacted by climate change. If that's not enough, they are also now succumbing to rabies, brought by the jackals.💢

4/ Now the #Namibian government has established a committee to oversee a MASSIVE INCREASE in the killing, ignoring the reality that these animals are threatened with extinction (listed on CITES) because of environmental conditions and over-fishing that have caused many mass die-offs. 💢

2/ They kill up to 80,000 nursing pups over the course of the 4 1/2 months. Pups are separated from their mothers, herded together, and beaten and stabbed to death in a horror scene beyond imagination. Namibia's government wants to increase the number of pups killed to 200,000 per year! 💢
