Hybrid workplaces are an effort by management to hang on to power and privilege for as long as possible, I concluded in May 2021.

Overheard (2021) — Hybrid work will lose people. 3 days in the office & 2 from anywhere will not be good enough. Who will not agree? Those with families, long commutes, accessibility issues, people to care for, etc. It will be a good 40% of people not happy with this. NB Power is our public utility. ProEnergy is a US company contracted to build a methane gas powered electrical generating station which will also use 70,00l of water per day. Three million gallons of diesel will be onsite as backup. This sign is 5 km from the site under construction now. #nbpoli

We had a wonderful day #cycling near Sussex, New Brunswick today. But it was more elevation than I was used to at 500m climbing over our 40 km, so stopping here seemed appropriate

This image is one I have often used in explaining sensemaking with the personal knowledge mastery framework. It describes how we can use different types of filters to seek information and knowledge and then apply this by doing and creating, and then share, with added value, what we have learned. One emerging challenge today is that our algorithmic knowledge filters are becoming dominated by the output of generative pre-trained transformers based on large language models. And more and more, these are generating AI slop. Which means that machine filters, like our search engines, are no longer trusted sources of information.
