Just sneaking in my November reads before December wraps up.

Next year, I am focusing on page count, not books read but i am really proud of myself from reading ~5 books a year the past few years to 50+ this year. I had to keep upping my goal, bc i was only gonna shoot for 25 originally.

Whenever I hear shit about the ADL, I am reminded of this info I learned from How To Survive a Plague
Text from kindle: To make their goals plaon, the group called itself the Gay and Lesbian Anti-Defamation League and crafted a mjssion statement similar to the one that B'nai B'rith had used to guide their Anti-Defamation League since 1913. They would secure justice and fair treatment toward lesbians and gays, and respons wherever untruths about gay lives were being trafficked. But almost as soon as they put out a call for a town hall meeting to announce their formation came cease-and-desist warnings from, of all places, the very Jewish group they so admired. the Anti-Defamation League felt defamed by association with the gays. They threatened legal action, forcing the new group to change its name to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, or GLAAD.

1. Lirael. I recently re-read this because I remember her being one of the few female characters I related to as a teen. I remember feeling so seen to find a book where being quiet =\= being a coward. I also struggled to find my place in the world, and this book gave me a lot of comfort.
