I don’t get the hate towards DC. I love this city - best metro in the country, diverse food, lots of things to do and if you ever miss a large city - short drive/train ride NY!

NY State Parks are heavily underrated. I think Letchworth Park and Watkins Glen are better than a lot of national parks in the US.

I am starting to think letting authoritarian and oil driven regime host back to back COP wasn’t such a good idea on future legitimacy of climate conversations. Compare that to NY Climate Week and it’s easy to see where proper dialogue are happening.

This is such a important data point. That most people justly or unjustly don’t have time to understand the nuance of policy and democracy. It was very interesting to me that from the exit poll by far the thing people remember about the 2024 election campaign was photo from Trump McDonald’s visit.

I am in the phase where I realize having a long Duolingo streak doesn’t mean fluency in the language. The urge to keep the streak else the Green owl will murder you is stronger than urge to learn a new language.
