The big photo is cherry trees at the MLK Memorial. The small one is a duck at the FDR Memorial.
Of course he knows them. When I go canvassing, that's practically all you hear: "Oh, Tim Kaine? Strong yes! I've met with him personally about Issue TBD and he really gets it."

It is physically impossible for one person to have met with every voter in Virginia but it sometimes seems like he has.

That's the spirit! You are in charge, not the gods of social media.

What a contrast. Really enjoyed this link, thank you.

It's just about the short period during which the seat is unoccupied. If there are enough resignations, that could add up, simply because the margin is so narrow. It's true, though, that she's given over a month's notice, so that might shrink the time it's vacant.

I think it's more that the time when she is out of office will temporarily reduce the Republican membership by one, but her replacement may be a more moderate Rupublican. I don't know how much of a gap there will be, though, since she has given advance warning that a special election is needed.

I should say: More Republican resignations like MTG's would mean the House would flip Democratic before the midterms, at least for some time.

So that suggests, if there some more Republican resignations from the House, she would be the Chair of the Committee that funds DHS. Anyone running DHS should think about what that could mean, given the appalling conditions she has just seen, and the clear sense that ICE is 100 percent fine with it.

He did say it to his face. That's what is so weird about this reporting. Trump interrupted a more tactful but truthful statement that he thought so and said -- just say Yes, I don't mind, and so Mandami immediately just said "Yes" quite clearly, no fancy discussion involved.

Just to repeat something that's often missed: he is literally a former airline lobbyist.

So: it can't be his department (despite limited, though reckless, DOGE cuts).

It can't be the airlines -- see his job history.

Who is left? Passengers who don't dress well. Yell at them. Problem solved.

Honestly, I had assumed this was about the National Guard and military forces being sent to American cities, especially as we get closer to the midterms.

I was thinking of when there were protests in DC in 2020 in the days after the death of George Floyd (when Trump also went to a nearby church for a photo op). Low-flying military helicopters pushed protestors out of a street, and Trump also said that civilian protestors should be shot in the legs.

If your sergeant decides to deal drugs or rob a bank and gives you orders that are part of that crime, you can't obey those orders. Of course that will not be easy. But that's what you do.

The illegal things that Trump might order aren't that different. Shoot civilians in the legs, for example.

Not a "NO" and COMPLETELY wrong!

Duffy does not understand that he serves the public. The public is his boss, not the reverse.

He is also supposed to improve the consumer experience. Instead, he destroyed many advances Buttigieg made in terms of airline obligations to passengers.

It's because Duffy had been an airline lobbyist.

That's right. Pete used "private planes" rarely and only when needed. That meant federally owned planes, such as those owned by the Department of Transportation, or in a few cases,
military planes, including a flight on Air Force One.

Otherwise, he took commercial flights, using economy class.

Based on your description, it sounds like you think there was a better way to respond to this person who values your opinion, but you lost your temper, insulted him, and shut the door in his face.

If you had the chance to do it again, would you do the exact same thing or say something different?
