I agree, I mean I can get used to full hjkl navigation even though the keys are distributed randomly, the only real problem is J which is on a Qwerty P position. I'm not sure I should assign one of the most common actions to one of the weakest fingers or alt finger it with ring or something lol

H and L are on opposite hands that are contrary to their vim directions, although I do use vim's K and J (which on a pinky for me) for combinations and long range navigation though. I've only been using vim for a few days

in the layout I use (graphite), vim's hjkl is all over the place so for short range navigation within a line I was defaulting to a software layer mapping the arrow keys to WASD (and other things) when I hold Alt (under my thumb in the pic) which is generally how I use arrow keys in all programs

nvm, it actually does occur in words like lawful and awful, it doesnt appear often in code though

I type "wf" to exit insert which corresponds to "ru" on qwerty. it's easy to type because it's just an index finger alternation that is only one position away the home row and the bigram never occurs in text
