Four generations ago a generation ship crashed into the sands of Savene. Since then, its survivors have eked out an existence in the planet’s hostile desert. Yet, the tech is failing, the sands are encroaching, and people are dying. Rescue is still generations away—if it comes at all.

As someone with dyscalculia, I totally agree. If you tell me "it's eight years since I was seven" I have to stop reading and count on my fingers and lose the flow. Just tell me how old, or at least add it if the eight year reference is important.

When I look at Bluesky again, my recent post is there for people to find (like it used to be with Twitter). It hasn't disappeared into X obscurity for no one to ever see.
