For me, the whole incident and the way it was reported is intriguing. It was obviously quite a scene, but with all the weapons flying around, who took the time to note the colour of the girls’ hair 🤔

When my eldest son was a baby, Pingu was on non-stop. Can’t remember if it was on tv or DVD, but it certainly dominated the tele. When my youngest son arrived Fireman Sam assumed that role.

It does seem to be a light and off-handed dismissal. An expert stated that drinking Ajax would make you feel unwell, but no more than that. Obviously, he took those words into account. But I don’t think he asked what else she stored in her cupboards…

The match was played over 24 games - the first 12 in New York, the second 12 in Lyon from 26 November to 30 December. After the first 12 games, the players were tied - one win each. Game 13 was a Grunfeld - the second in the match. Like the first, it ended in a draw.

The chess on ITV was the World Championship match between Garry Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov. In terms of their chess styles and political views they were total opposites - Kasparov the rebel, Karpov a product of the party machine.

In 1990 Sgorio was showing highlights of the Italian and Spanish leagues every week. The filler in this sandwich was either highlights of a German or Dutch football game, or kick boxing. Arthur Emyr was the usual presenter. He played rugby union for Swansea and was capped by Wales.
