Within a first study, research gaps and potential empirical results on positive social media effects will be identified through a literature review on young people's political mindset and #newmedia.📝

During my postdoc at the @ddc-sdu.bsky.social I will investigate potential positive effects of social media use. ➕
My work will examine the conditions under which, e.g., content #personalisation strengthens political interest, knowledge or participation, and the role #medialiteracy plays in this. 🗞️

Together with colleagues from the Centre for #Journalism and @ddc-sdu.bsky.social at the University of Southern Denmark we will be evaluating the programme, which will involve 4,000 pupils from all over #Denmark! ⚖️

Analysing the Federal election campaign 2025 in Germany, we found only few party ads on #Facebook and #Instagram. Perceived targeting was negatively associated with lower vote choice certainty. However, targeting of the preferred party did neither affect certainty nor party preference.

Yesterday, I shared the latest update on a project using a mobile tracking app to analyse political #targeting in election campaigns in collaboration with @ymeier.bsky.social and Abdul Obeid.

Today I talked about historical #VR and transportation. Lea Frentzel-Beyme, Nicole Krämer and I showed that transportation was related to higher positive and negative emotions as well as story consistent beliefs, while knowledge was not related to perceived transportation during a VR experience.
