I want to like it more, but after a *lot* of build up the story doesn’t deliver enough. It feels like the plot limps to the finish line. It’s just not impressive enough a conclusion for a 5-part epic.
One big positive though is Dan sticking around for a few more adventures.

Yep! Maybe sometimes for shop/restaurant workers? “One moment, I’m just serving this lady.” “Yes, those shoes are for the lady in green over there.” But increasingly less so these days I think.

And there are devolved elements now which means that Scottish and Northern Irish education is run separately, so they can cover history slightly differently to England and Wales.

Thing is, there’s a lot of British history to cover and hard to agree on the most important bits. Worth highlighting that although used interchangeably now, the UK didn’t exist as a ‘united’ kingdom until the 1700s. ‘British history’ is often English but there’s a whole lot of Scottish, Welsh too.

The British Empire isn’t actually something I did much at school (mainly the slave trade, but I think more has since been added to the curriculum in England). We touched on some of it, but I’ve done the first 2 parts of this series and it’s been interesting to learn more.
