Reminds me of some wisdom that I think I heard on @intothecast.bsky.social‬ , the point of spicy food or souls-like (gatepunk?) games or other consensual spicy pursuits isn't necessarily the pain (though it can be), the purpose is to open doors to flavors you might not experience otherwise.
