The text is a notice from the management of Long Lake Provincial Park regarding the closure of park facilities. The parking lots at Dunbrack Street and Old Sambro Road will be closed on Monday or Tuesday of the coming week (after Sunday, November 23rd). The closures are due to provincial park regulations, insurance conditions, and parking lot management requirements. The park trails remain open, but the toilet at the Dunbrack Street lot is closed. The facilities will re-open on or about April 22nd, 2026.

Section of the Musquodoboit Trailway closed today.
"Attention trail users! The second half of our trail resurfacing project is starting TOMORROW, October 30. Heavy machinery will be on the trail starting at Norma's Place (7.2km up the trail) and heading south toward Park Road. It is requested that people avoid the area while the construction crews are operating. Fingers crossed the weather cooperates and we can get this done swiftly and safely. Thanks for your cooperation while we improve the trails for everyone to enjoy. The Gibraltar Rock loop end is wide open for your enjoyment. Thanks!"

🎃 A great event for families with young children. The hugely popular, fifth annual Gaetz Brook Greenway Halloween Walk. Check it out this weekend - Saturday Oct. 25, 1-3 pm.

The 5th annual Halloween Trail walk will follow the Gaetz Brook Greenway, starting in East Chezzetcook and ending at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 161, located at 6644 Hwy #7. If it rains, the event moves to Sunday, October 26th. Updates will be posted by Saturday 9 am on our Facebook event page, GBG Halloween Trail Walk—follow us for information and details to the differnet contests that will be happening during the day. Approved parking is available (but in limited amounts) at the following locations. - East Chezzetcook - 24 Debra Way (the parking lot for the GBG Trail, first right on Motts Drive) - East Chezzetcook - Motts Drive (please park on the shoulder of the road, one side only) - East Chezzetcook - 89 East Chezzetcook Road, (Chezzetcook & District Lions Community Centre) - East Chezzetcook - 210 Motts Drive, (Eastern Shore Consolidated School parking lots) - Gaetz Brook - 6856 Hwy 7, (site of the former Gaetz Brook Junior High School) You are permitted to park along the shoulder of No 7 Highway, Pine Hill Drive, and several nearby side streets. Always ensure your vehicle is parked safely and does not block driveways or disrupt traffic. Note that some side streets in this area are private; pay attention to posted signs and keep this in mind when choosing a parking spot. Pine Hill Drive's west end will be closed from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Vehicles must use the eastern entrance near the former Gaetz Brook Junior High School during this time. Toilet facilities are available to the public at Chezzetcook & District Lions Community Centre (89 East Chezzetcook Road) from 12 pm to 4 pm, with snacks and drinks for sale. Additional options include a pit toilet on the trail past Pine Hill Drive if heading toward East Chezzetcook, and two port-a-potties: one on Debras Way near Brookside Drive, and another near the Gaetz Brook Legion trail entrance. A cash-only fundraiser BBQ will be held from 12–3pm next to the main East Chezzetcook entrance during the event.
