Windows somehow buggered the USB controller of the person's laptop mid-update, BIOS/Chipset/Thunderbolt Controller updates & reinstalls do nothing, look online and I see people referencing the exact same issue on forums back in 2004 with XP... I'm just gonna give the laptop a fresh image tomorrow
