Listened to this on your recommendation. So gorgeous. I was all about track three, El Haris [Anxious]. That one is a whole world. Thanks for perking my ear to it!

Some great reviews by @spinal-bap.bsky.social and @paddyclarke.bsky.social lead the way 🌱

Not sure if your blog's the first place I read a review, but damn this album is good. You talked about Anglican-y authenticity and I thought of Pantilde by The Worm, who is more on the folk side. As far as I can tell that record is under-reported. Maybe it's in your wheelhouse?

Hell yeah, perfect intro. This WRENS album is gorgeous. Listening to almost everything from this label :)

Yeah! Love how the song sort of crushes into itself while the singing stays poised.

Love that cover too. Evelyn Hofer. Will be looking into her work.

Saw him at Washington Baths in Portland, ME this year, but haven't heard an album yet. This is pulling me in: "It’s rare for a record to include such unique and inventive input and ideas that seem unconventional on the surface yet manage to sound comforting, intimate, and a source of great solace."

Love that quote about the beautiful continuum of life.

As someone who’s played with this band since the early days of so-slow-you-can-hear-your-blood-flow, I really appreciate the line: “Chico States positions itself squarely within the lineage of bands that will get there when they get there, and not a moment before.”

I wasn't there but when I heard that lineup I was boggled!

He had some gorgeous postcards too, really an interesting painter

I like this part in your review: “'When I die, I die with the flowers," Jamie sings, poking at the old questions of why we’re here and where we’re going, as folk artists have done forever." That song was gorgeous live. I'm always wondering where the "folk" line ends, so I like that^.

I celebrate too. And that's for adults. Do that in a middle school and it's like a pebble transformed into a cabinet.

Beautiful beautiful show at Washington Baths in Portland, ME a few weekends ago.

This is probably my favorite track on the album. Big play over the summer.

Thank you! I've been eyeing your events for a while and almost went to this one—but something got in the way. I'll be checking it out. I love Goldston's album 'On A Moonlit Hill In Slovenia' from @eiderdownrecords.bsky.social.

If we were in a room, mine would be a laugh that embarrasses others

Beautiful. You know when you choose to hang on to a mistakenly heard lyric? I'm going with "reminder of the universe." But I like the feeling of receiving its message too 📬

Thanks @erocy.world, good eye! I haven’t seen Gum Parker yet and the songwriter is a family friend of my partner. Would love to see Perennial!
