I've done this with caterpillars, mantises, many kinds of beetle, lizards, geckos, small birds and spiders when I know they're not venomous. It always makes me smile and I feel like the goblin version of a Disney princess.

One way to make your day a little more magical is to get comfortable handling insects and other small creatures that gets caught up in human places and gently put them outside.
