It’s been a bad couple of years to be a guy who only derives any sense of purpose/self worth/value from “being good at job” and “progressing in career,” and ESPECIALLY a bad couple of years to have that personality AND be trying to succeed professionally as a transgender person in America lmfao

Also lmfao that's the other biggest joke, the fact that my entire career has been working as a writer and now here I am dealing with the fact that now there's ZERO JOBS ZERO FUTURE thanks to ChatGPT AI slop apocalypse. Haha jokes!! Haha funny jokes!!! That's me! I'm the fucking joke!!!!

Anyway if anyone has advice on fighting unemployment appeals or any leads on LGBTQ+ friendly jobs that would be a good fit for someone who's been working as a copywriter in marketing for the last 10 years, please let me know

Idk! Not to mention the overwhelming hopelessness and powerlessness I've felt re: the shit from this stupid fucking job over the last year just mirrors the greater fascist nightmare of the world right now, combined with the fact that I've got that autistic justice sensitivity - feels really rough!

So idk! My back hurts and I'm extremely fucking stressed out and exhausted and everything feels profoundly hopeless (disclaimer I have the privilege of supportive partner/parents so I'm not In Active Peril) but the emotional toll of having been at this shitty job and still having to deal with it now

And today specifically I've spent the last idk 12 hours being up to my eyeballs reading state law statutes and who knows if it's even gonna make a difference considering I submitted FULL ON AUDIO RECORDINGS disproving my prev employer's statements for my initial appeal and still lost

But NOPE somehow the state still denied my initial claim, so now I have to take it to the appeals process and try and put together another round of documentation that'll hopefully save my ass? So I've been playing armchair lawyer for the last MONTH

Anyway on 12/29/25 they fired me (YUP, RIGHT AFTER CHRISTMAS!!!) for alleged "poor performance," but they told the state unemployment division that I engaged in "misconduct," explicitly lied about me by saying I did things I never did, and I put together a ton of documentation to rebut them

My PTO benefits got retroactively revoked, I said it went against the handbook and they REVOKED THE HANDBOOK IN RESPONSE, I also pushed back by refusing to do a project that was illegal (I worked in marketing, think false advertising) and got punished for that

And after I asked for an accommodation in October to go to Drs appts for the disability, boss forced me to reveal medical info against my will and then denied me any future accommodations (I was one of 5 employees so no ADA lol), I kept getting treated worse and worse

First off, discrimination - hate to reference AGAB in these times but the facts stand that I don't pass and my legal docs haven't been changed, anyway I was the only AFAB/transgender/queer employee, AND the only employee with a known disability

So far it’s just making me worry more
