Sucks but I always take solace in the understanding that ragebait articles every 100 million will always draw new eyes to SC because no matter how much you try and paint the picture it's a scam there will always be some people questioning why everyone thinks so negatively and then they try it

Yeah but it doesn't incite casual gamer rage much like saying "this game costs more than GTA and isn't even released after X amount of years" and sites like popular games media rely on clicks for ad revenue instead of having any kind of integrity.

Yeah I don't think we'll ever see any kind of article cover the fact that it's funding is not just Star Citizen it's four game studios around the world making two of the biggest games ever attempted, the world's largest Indy studio with their first two games being this massive.

The biggest-budget, most notorious space game around is holding a huge free trial, with over 200 ships you can try

I respect your outlook from an outside pov but would encourage you to give SC a try during the many freefly weeks the game has every year like the one going now, the servers may be stressed a bit and you always should have a guide but anyone would drop everything they are doing to help a new player

The publish every single month what they've done in the past month in very detailed breakdowns all of the information is there to be parsed through but games media really doesn't care they'd rather go for the cheap easy clicks

This "concern" always comes from people that look from the outside not taking the time to give the game an earnest try and instead echoing the long incorrect assertions about the game and community. Look at all the games come and gone in a "released" state, its laughable.

This has and always will be the biggest point I love to make during these conversations that always happen, The concern of who exactly? Because the player base while of course wanting release isn't up in arms about it not being "released" yet otherwise it wouldn't be funded like it is.

The reason so many people play and more continue to join despite what media says is pretty much everytime you play this game provides moments that you literally cant get anywhere else, the most emergent gameplay of any open world MMO. The reality is its 45$ for the game and thats it.

We are already enjoying ourselves while people that write articles like this always come off as "no trust me bro your getting scammed i promise" meanwhile we are enjoying the latest patch or just playing the game because its fun. Focus on When and you lose sight of fun.

To many showed they can and will do this. They outlined last year what 1.0 entails and set the bar to reach, throughout this year they have been reaching those goals one by one. For the people that actually play the game of course we want it released but its already available to play

Lets put it this way from someone who has taken the time to follow the project and each update/monthly report. Everything until the start of this year was making the foundations of the game and the tools needed, server meshing was the last major technical hurdle in the games development and

You can play right now, 1.0 has been outlined with all the goals they need & this past year has moved them much closer to that. Its not 1k$ for a ship its 45$ for the game. Its free multiple times a year like right now and fun to play with the community that would drop everything to help new ppl

The 48k$ ship is funny but this is really pretentious and again follows the long established narrative that SC is a hardcore fan base that just keeps throwing money at it for some reason instead of realizing the game is growing every year reaching new players. Its 45$ dude not everyone puts down 1k$

The 45$ pack was asked for by the community because after backing so long and having so many packs people that did want to support alot just wanted 1 pack with everything in it so the hanger screen wasn't so crowded. Its free to play starting the 20th and many times per year they have free weeks.

And its a common misconception that whales support the game its just people that have been here a long time coupled with tons of new players that like we keep telling everyone only ever need to spend 45$ for the game.

The old game had nothing about landable seemless planets and was going to be starfield the MMO with loading screens everywhere but we've had seemless universe since the start of the PU in like 2016? Its very playable and its okay that its not for everyone but the people that enjoy it do for a reason

The star systems and game in the Kickstarter was freelancer the sequal but when former crytek devs showed a procedural planet was possible in engine it was a big thing CIG asked the community if they wanted more in depth land able planets in game that takes longer, and it was overwhelmingly yes.

Its something called a *metaphor* and its funny because thats ingame not a store picture. Kinda crazy how ppl can still try and insinuate theres no gameplay just because its not done in X amount of time, meanwhile people play for hours at a time now.

Support it because it wil give you the freedom to change it with mods and the fact its free with the support of contributions so its easier to get into schools.
