TV Tropes addict. Childless cat man.

Here for a better a life 🙏🏾.
E.g. Don't ask him an open ended question about the economy's health, teeing him up for his "prices are way down, gasoline is down..." etc stump speech.

Go straight in and tell him (and his audience) that you checked those figures and they're not correct, so ask him why he keeps using them.

What baffles me is that Trump should be the easiest person in the world to devise questions for, since he says the same things over and over again. Moreso than any politician I've ever followed.

They know the script so should have their rebuttals ready (or baked into the questions).

This is the big problem with your reporters.

To many of them think their job is just to get the quote, and leave the challenges and analysis to other journalists. But if you're going to cover someone like Trump, you need to bake your criticism into the question and demand a response to THAT.

Why do people keep saying this?

You're commenting on a clip of him naming the wars. Journalists are all aware of fhe wars he claims to have stopped, and have been since he started making the claim.

Its such a weird talking point.

Just another example of Trump not knowing what's actually going on under him.
December 9, 2025 at 12:00 AM
Just like how the investigation into the Honduran president's drug trafficking started during Trump's first term, yet journalists keep allowing him to describe it as a Biden witch hunt.

Imagine if 6 months before Euro 2028 Kier Starmer told UEFA "I'm really not sure about holding games at Wembley - there's too many Somalis there. I think we should move the games to Stoke-on-Trent instead".

Infantino is a joke.

Unless I'm missing something, didn't the people who are criticising Farage *also* criticise that kind of BBC content? I dont understand the charge of double-standards here - it seems pretty consistent to me, especially as, like you say, Farage is being accused of even worse.
December 5, 2025 at 1:07 PM
Also, haven't writers like this spent the last 10 years insisting that this stuff wasn't "lamentable", it was either misunderstood, harmless, or just "the way things were them"?

I was explicitly told that it was a golden era, when people "knew how to take a joke".
December 5, 2025 at 1:05 PM
Drug trafficking is not a capital offence, so how would this make it any better?
December 5, 2025 at 9:56 AM
He didn't miss it - Alf Garnett has been a culture war talking point for years, and it was actually Nigel and his ilk who kept telling everyone it was progressive parody.

He's just trying to poison the well.

He saw a Fox News segment last week about a Somali fraud ring in Minnesota, and latched onto it because he hates Waltz and Ilhan Omar + racism.

Dog whistles are subtle - this is not subtle.
December 3, 2025 at 10:48 PM
This isn't a dog whistle ffs, it's just unadulterated racism, dehumanisation and fascism.

He's talking about *his own citizens*.
December 3, 2025 at 10:37 PM
Seriously, I'm actually raging at this.

This despicable rhetoric is now out in the open, on both sides of the pond. We've seen similar from Reform UK reps and GBNews contributors this just this week.

No one who condones this should have a place in our politics or on our screens.

What do you reckon they do? Do they just switch off when he starts playing the hits? Or do they find a way to Jedi Mind Trick themselves into thinking they haven't all heard this crap a million times?
December 3, 2025 at 10:22 PM
Yeah, I get so much second hand embarrassment for him and everyone in the rooms he inhabits.

If *I*, a random guy on the other side of the Atlantic, can remember hearing all of his dumb/made-up stories dozens of times, *imagine how often his aids must have heard them*.

Tbf to the press, they dont beed to ask which wars, since everyone knows which ones he's claiming to have ended.

He says them often, and the White House regularly put out graphics listing them.

There's plenty to criticise your press for, but I dont get why people keep doing it over this topic.
