It might be a good small outcome to make plugins or GitHub repos, but sometimes it seems like they aren't great temple pillars of that video, but weeds or small trees that are nothing for use for future. Ideas don't die, but some architecture would be obsoleted.

I have defined myself bored one; shallowly struggling in several unrelated and niche fields such as DSP, modern TETRIS, localization, or dev something.
YT suggested this video to me... Does it check here?

I wish game localization industory realise to use ショット/ボム instead of '射撃/爆弾'.

If you find '射撃/爆弾' in your shmup game, the localizer would not know the context or respect.

That was another example of how the complexity of game control affected the term.

In Dodonpachi Saidaioujou (2012), the support character says 'ボンバー投下' when deploying a bomb, thus the term 'ボンバー' still barely remains, much like the genre itself.

After 2000, 'ボンバー' faded out. Dodonpachi Daioujou (2002) stopped using 'ボンバー' and replaced it with 'ボム'.
It would not only stop using silly katakana English, but it might also intend to reduce the number of characters in the instruction for the Hyper System.

In the same year, 1985, Tiger Heli introduced the bomb system. Toa Plan named it 'ボンバー' (bomber), and it also used 'ショット' in the instruction.
Although it was a bit silly to use the term for bombing planes for bombs, 'ショット/ボンバー' was the most common shmup style in 1980 and the 1990s.

The katakana 'ショット' was widely populated by Gradius (1985).
'ショット' became a term not only for firing the main weapon, but also the main weapon itself until today.
Most devs have used the term because they might believe buttons for sub-weapons or other buttons can be distinct.

Black Hole Bomb was usually called 'ブラックホールボンバー' but written 'ブラックホール爆弾' in instructions (maybe a shortage of characters), but it was fixed to 'ブラックホールボンバー' after DBAC (2011).
'ボンバー' (katakana for 'bomber') will be discussed later.

As far as my brief research, there are only 2 other arcade shmup games that used '爆弾' instead of 'ボム'; Mr. Heli (1987) that deploys 💣, and Black Hole Bomb of Darius Gaiden (1997).

They used '爆弾' because the emergency bomb was a new concept for players, and the literal translation '高性能爆弾' was not suitable, so it might be a compromise.

Defender (1980) was an exception featuring two types of weapons.
Taito, the importer, translated FIRE to 発射 and Smart Bomb to スマート爆弾 (katakana + kanji) in the instructions. (you can see it at igcc.jp/int-nishitan...)

Before 1985, almost all arcade games had one button for attacks.
The button was labelled FIRE on the control panel and translated to '発射'. i.e. Space Invaders (1979)

Happy New Year!
Well, I had once made a small drum thingy from a fruit can and a wrap of cereal (attached photo) and planned to use it as a trigger, but I couldn't accomplish it because of restrictions for my neighbors. 😅
