Yeah I don't really begrudge it, I enjoy having the extra content and I'm glad other people can enjoy it. Can't help feeling that I'd have enjoyed it more if they went for something really fresh and their own thing though.

Almost all the core mechanics, like grabbing items from boxes and holding two at a time, speed boosts, rings/coins boosting max speed, stunts on jumps for boosts, slipstreams, are all the same as mariokart- But admittedly I don't know if this is just expected of the racing genre as a whole.

Sure- It's mostly the levels seeming similar. Metal harbor = sunshine airport, colourful mall = coconut mall, pumpkin mansion = twisted mansion, chao park = water park, coral town = dolphin shoals, others too but these were the ones that stood out the most to me.
