The upfront cost can be pricey for now (~$18k for a single family home), so calculations have to be made on when it's expected to break even (around 5 years? it's getting lesser for sure). Tbh all govts should be subsidizing if they want rapid adoption

Some energy companies may allow you to generate solar energy from your own panels and "sell" the excess back to the company to gain credits, then use the credits during lull seasons like winter, essentially zero-ing out your electricity bills. Or you could generate off-grid and store em in batteries

If you're referring to yourself as a consumer, definitely consider solar energy! Idk if your city/state have any grants for solar panel installation, but solar panels are getting cheaper / more efficient.

I'm currently enrolled in a pre-apprenticeship trades course for a taster on carpentry, plumbing, electrical and welding. So I haven't officially started a career, but I'm liking electrical and am thinking of applying to solar energy apprenticeships

ok for the geothermal shrimp, i'm actually eyeing this project that combines geothermal energy, hydroponics and aquaculture. it's not built yet but i'm aspiring to work on it!
