But there are also untreated orchards. I've seen many of them in rural Saxony and Thuringia, and its sad too see the lack of human resources (and sheep) to manage them properly.

Indeed...
There's a horse stable on the other side of the road, but I didn't see bisons nearby. I would be ok also if it would feed hunans.

Indeed they are lying them because nobody picked them, nearest house being 50 m away.
So we picked as many as possible from the trees. Circa 50% inedible but the remaining are delicious. (but not organic as the field is obviously sprayed).
By now I've seen tons of wasted fruits.

English conservation work seems often complicated... Good to see that some species do well.
From the picture it looks like an ''intensive care for mother nature'' site. I guess this is what happens when so few habitats remain, and the original processes r lost that used to shape mosaic landscapes?

A great format yesterday for a science-policy interaction, with participants from 4 parties, DG AGRI, scientists and 4 farmers from Romania, Denmark, Belgium. A vivid discussion on agroecology and the CAP. These are just 2 hours. Concerns about the CAP are grave, so a further dialogue is needed.
