At the end of each semester your results are reviewed by the JMP Year Assessment Decision Committee and others who monitor overall academic progress. As part of this process students will receive notification of their performance in assessment items. Performance is categorised as either “Satisfactory (Met Required Standard)”, “Marginal (Just Met the Required Standard)”, or “Unsatisfactory (Did Not Meet Required Standard)”.

Common symptoms include ear pain, hearing loss, and in severe cases, fluid accumulation behind the eardrum. Proud to share our latest publication on Indigenous student engagement in biomedical science & pharmacy! Our work at The University of Newcastle highlights pathways for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students, breaking down barriers & fostering equity.

Indigenous student engagement, from initial learnings to implementation and continuing the journey. Summary of approach being establishing at the University of Newcastle to address the lack of diversity and equity in biomedical science and pharmacy research for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This approach involves (1) initial learnings that staff are required to undertake such as cultural capability training to bring everyone up to speed on the historical context. (2) The pre-university engagement through the Wollutuka Institute and the Indigenous Student Engagement Committee to connect with our mob, build relationships early and remove barriers to entry into University. (3) Initiatives for current staff and students for cultural and academic support and retention. (4) The next steps required to continue the journey.
