Aping Reform destroyed the Tories and now it's destroying Labour. It doesn't benefit the economy. It doesn't benefit society. It doesn't even benefit their position in the polls. So why do Labour do it? The only conclusion is that it's ideological - this is who they are now 😢

XXICB, ERROR & KMF are great albums full of great songs, and I'm sure they'll continue to make great albums full of great songs, but I'm not sure they'll ever create anything as unique and original as QOTMS... 🥰

Perhaps politicians (and the media that support them) are now more incentivised to promote a general sense of disatisfaction than they were in decades gone by, to more easily sell their "we can make things better!" message...

Nostalgia plays a part, but housing (for example) is objectively less affordable given that property prices are going up faster than salaries. The ideological/psychological link between 'hard work' and 'rewarded by society' is broken, so people feel increasingly disillusioned...
