100% agreed. That's the problem though, so many people are bubble freaks here on social media, their personal ideology and wishes trumps all. Facts don't matter to them, meaningless to them, facts are just an annoyance in their minds when you try to have a logical discussion.

Yeah, I'm not confident either, but like you, I found it interesting also. I'm sure the petition will get reasonable support here in Medicine Hat but the other areas like Brooks and the rural areas I don't think it will get much support.

I'm now living in Medicine Hat. We moved here from Saskatoon around 10 years ago. It's such a nice little city. Prelate is just across the border from here so I always knew the city well.

A small little village in SW Saskatchewan .... Prelate. About an hour and a 1/2 west of Swift Current. Prelate was well known for it's girl's school convent, St Angelas Academy. I spent most of my adult years in PA / Saskatoon, a few years in Kindersley.

I far as I know that's not entirely true. But since the Canadian military is so integrated strategically with the American military any operation would be a joint effort if Canada is involved, so then yes, any mission would have to go through the pentagon as America would always lead the missions.
