PSN wrap up time. Just like last year, I kinda feel like some of this is wrong? Also, can they just let me browse all this data they obv have collected on my page or something?

53. Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (PS5)🎮

If you had asked me to make a wishlist for a remake of the first Trails game, it'd basically be 1:1 what Falcom delivered.

The fact this isn't my slam dunk game of the year is a testament to how good everything else released this year has been. Loved it.

52. Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut (PS5)🎮

Never played the DLC, and I wanted to revisit the story after Yotei. Ended up finishing the entire thing before going into the DLC. Still really like the opening and ending of the story. 3rd area is a lot worse than I remember.

OK, I thought this shit was some edit, but its real and its still up on xhitter.

Fuck Gamestop, never buying anything there again.

51. Ghost of Yotei (PS5) 🎮

I feel like I pet significantly less foxes, so its basically a strict downgrade from Tsushima.

Oh and I did everything and platinum'd it.

Yeah, I feel bad for the other smaller authors that are going to get burned by this. But this was his response after the Bitmap apology post.

50. Silent Hill f (PS5)🎮

I really like the story and characters, in addition to the way it reveals detail through NG+. That will stick with me for awhile. But man, I do not think Souls-adjacent is where I think combat should have gone. But some change from older games should be expected?

49. Rayman 2 Revolution (PS2)🎮

I'm absurdly nostalgic for the N64 version, but I decided to play the PS2 port as it'd be "new" to me. Same core game, but a few changed things.

Tragically, I think its not quite as good as my childhood wants it to be, but still its an above average platformer.

48. Shinobi Art of Vengeance (PS5)🎮

A lot of people were talking this up as potential GOTY, which is a lot this year in particular. Kind set expectations higher than I should have allowed for myself. Very good game, but also not really in the range I expected it to be.

47. Berserk Boy (PS5) 🎮

Kind of below average Megaman-like? But without stage order select? I get what they were shooting for, but the power-ups got worse than the base form in terms of fun. And any flow state in the level would end up crashing into the plot at some point. Didn't really like this.

46. Planet of Lana (PS5)🎮

Solid, above average puzzle platformer (I think that's the genre?). I kind of prefer the ones more horror adjacent, a bit more tense. But this probably fits the mood for others that don't feel that way. Good puzzles, nice atmosphere and visuals. And you can pet the cat.

45. Banjo-Kazooe (N64)🎮

More than sold 3d platformer for the day. It kinda kills its momentum near the end though, in pretty notorious way (I think its notorious, I knew about it anyway). But the character design, sound track/sound design and early level design were really good for everything else.

44. Hollow Knight: Silksong (PC) 🎮

Its Silksong man, if you like this kind of game, then this is going to be a favorite. And I'm in that demographic. I posted some of my early thoughts, and they mostly didn't change. Got 100% on my save, probably do achievements and such post-balance patches.

Finally.
September 4, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Taken from downdetector. They probably should have taken pre-orders for this Silksong thing huh.
September 4, 2025 at 2:37 PM
43. Shadow of the Tomb Raider (PS4)🎮

Finished this and its DLC last night, just in time to clear the way for Silksong. Its fine; I recall a lot of really negative sentiment about it back when it was new? Its definitely the worst game in the modern trilogy and some of the things weren't *wrong*.

42. Medal of Honor Underground (PS1)🎮

Shocked this one managed to disappoint me so much. The change to Manon as the MC is the one high note this managed. The difficulty curve ending in *extreme bullshit* near the end killed it for me. It sucks because it was pretty enjoyable until the last 2 chs.

I happened to have the JP version installed (diff trophy list) for Cold Steel 4 and the true ending trophy rate was a whooping 69.1%.

(Stats are from the trophy screen when logged in on the console, not 3rd party trophy tracking sites that use different sources)

41. Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped(PS1)🎮

Kind of surprised I slammed through this one so fast? Especially given that I got 105%. Guess muscle memory built faster than I expected, but that marks the end of the PS1 trilogy.

Think its the best? Variety levels were nice for first run, but sucked for trials.

40. Mystical Ninja starring Goemon (N64)🎮

Solid action adventure for the N64. Mostly enjoyed it, but the camera is rough. It did beat Zelda OoT to market by more than a year though, so it has some excuse. I also strongly suspect a lot of the jokes didn't survive localization.

Still had fun though.

39. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (PS1)🎮

Several content creators kind of hyped this one up for me pretty hard. Sadly, its not quite as good as my expectations hoped for.

Combat didn't really click, some rooms just don't have environmental stuff to finish vampires with later on, which sucked.

38. Medal of Honor (PS1)🎮

An old childhood rental I remember being as short as it kinda is. There's replay value in earning all the medals, but kinda not that into it.

More forward thinking than I thought, had ok options for dual stick controls. But still kinda janky by modern standards lol.

37. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back (PS1)🎮

Overall an improvement on the first game. A bit easier, but in a way I feel is less obtuse. New moves are neat, wish the slide was cleaner.

Big upgrade is saving the game like a normal person, I hated how Crash 1 handled saving progress.

Played a lot PS1 games with early voice acting that have me like this.
