This undermines academic freedom and puts instruction and academic expertise in courses across the college in the hands of a single designee, rather than the actual experts in their field. This not only affects literature scholars like me but those in biology, education, and beyond. 3/3

These changes would prohibit any changes from the syllabus used in the course approval process. Currently, the syllabi we submit are understood as representative examples, and we should have the ability to update them with new scholarship and related texts. This affects faculty in all fields! 2/3
