I’ve nipped into ‘spoons for a swift half. I am at a table next to four people eating curry and fish and chips. The woman eating fish and chips is the spit of Hilda Baker complete with shiny red wig that isn’t on straight. She’s drinking Guinness but sadly not a pickled onion in sight. .
