Xer.
Teaches communication at a state university.
Christian, but actually reads the Bible, so not fundamentalist.
Prefers no pronouns.
Don't tell me to calm down when the world's on fire.
For the record, that "Clearly AI" is pretty close to an exact copy of the answer. The absolute laziness was horrifying--didn't even bother to READ it?! Unfortunately, the "clearly student" was also close to accurate, but that's my fault for asking what they felt could be improved in the video...

I'm fine with it, I guess, as long as no art was included in the training datasets without the artists' permission. What's that you say? It totally was because without it it wouldn't work?

Burn it. Burn it to the ground and stomp on the ashes.

Disappointed. I wanted my individualized wrapup. "You made 23 doctors' appointments, tried 17 new prescriptions, met three new doctors, and said goodbye to two medical conditions! We saw you for surgery seven times--you're in the top 1 percent!"

I have an AI policy that asks students to give me their prompt and what they did with it. And they ignore it. I call them out on it, and they don't remember this policy at all that I mention weekly and that is in the syllabus and that is in an announcement on D2L.

Education is a weird field, and evidence-based doesn't always comport with what we think it ought to be (another example: there's a role for standardized tests, because they actually do help us compare how well classes and schools are doing. They just aren't great for judging individual learning).

Progressive values should be evidence-based--it's kinda our whole deal. Sight-words have been known not to work for *decades* and that's legitimately terrible. It's a betrayal of progressive values. Sight-words may be the best option IF you've missed the phonics window, but even then, *may*.

Maybe per capita.

That's just asking for hip issues!

He didn't DARE try that ish with the cat.

My husband does that and it is SO UNNERVING.

Of particular note is the wordplay and his ability to rapid-fire jokes, a gift that's been honed since my husband and I first started watching him on LCS 15 years ago. Don't sleep on the difficulty level here: he does comedy on hard mode, spitting words better (and faster) than most rappers.

Emo Phillips was an absolute DELIGHT. He was impressed by my being in a Ph.D. program, complimented my shirt, and roasted my husband for looking like he'd enjoy UHF. 10/10, no notes. We should go see him again.

The smart one was the barbarian?!

Who *wants* a Q&A after a comedy show?! Okay, when I give a talk, I expect Q&A. I'm at an academic conference, people have research ideas, and we all thrive on that sort of thing. But it seems terribly wrong for people to say "I have heard your jokes. I HAVE QUESTIONS."
That feels deeply weird.

The Fresno couple didn't pay the $5 *either*, so this is NOT all your fault.

Threshold is my answer, too. Bonus points to Forever and My Own Worst Enemy (Severance before Severance), but if I get this power, I will take Threshold and deal with hate from Firefly fans. I'm surprised not to see them in the comments--I always used to see that at the top of this question.

Can't do both if the people reject the pseudo-capitalist economy.

Voight is openly asking for a legally held election to be overruled. His justification is *solely* because the result as he sees it is anti-capitalist. This needs to be analyzed and considered, because it's pointing to a fault line.

...but now those two things are in tension because the faux capitalism has hurt too many regular folks. So now we have to choose between them: is America's economy going to remain a crony capitalist economy, or is America's state going to remain a republic of sorts? (cont)
