I have this set up in my retrofitted house
At night I load shift and the🔋is charged up using cheap ⚡️, excess in the day is exported at higher rate
Last year I imported 4200 kWh and exported 2400 kWh This gave me a bill around £100 for the year Big ❄️ bills are offset by profitable summer ones

Our heat pump blows across our decking. When the hot water gets heated there’s a max rush to go sit in the external air-con 😆

The “brown export” caveat is interesting. The most I’d make would be 21p overnight but then have an empty battery and have to run everything until sun comes up at 30p/kWh - not worth it.
As others have said it’s mostly to do with MCS closed shop
